Daytime potty-trained... YEAH!!!

Can write her name all by herself (see photo in December set)

First haircut at the beauty salon (momma, grammie, tia and addie all came along)

Is getting really comfortable with letters. Can look at signs and spell out all the letters in a word and loves to try to figure out which letter words start with by listening to the sound (there are certain letters she's really good at, like b, d, f, k, l, m, n, p, r, s, t, z).

First day of school (we've enrolled her for two mornings a week at "la escuela", a spanish immersion preschool here in vancouver... and she LOVES it!!!)

i know i have missed entering oh-so-many milestones here, but they are coming so quickly i just can't keep up!

Can recite the whole alphabet

Can count from one to thirteen by yourself (not sure exactly when this happened)

Can now jump with both feet (see videos in "Media" section)

First full, unsolicited sentence ("Lilia heb' Baba" - means "Lilia loves Baba"; said it right after waking up in the yurt at the coast)

First trip to the coast (you HATE the sand!)

Twelfth tooth (lower left)

Eleventh tooth (lower right)

Ninth and tenth teeth (upper left and right)

Learned to spin around and around!

We have lost track of when exactly you started using all of these words, but you can currently say (and frequently do): mama, teeth, thelg ( "ice"), bath, fish, nose, eye, spoon, ball. And you use the following signs on a daily basis: haleeb ("milk"), num-num (aka food), mayya ("water"), tufahah ("apple"), nami ("sleep"). As for understanding words, there is not enough space to list everything!

Started using the word "no" proficiently (and so it begins!)

Started standing on your own (for very short periods of time; only about 5-10 seconds)

First cold (along with momma and baba!)

First time away from Baba (Momma and Lilia went to spend a couple days with Grammie)

Started drinking from a straw

Started blowing kisses on command (usually)

First chewable food (Oat O's cereal)

Pulled self up to standing (in crib)

Sat up on own (from lying down)

Started giving kisses on request

Fourth tooth (top left)

First plane trip (to Jordan to meet the Cido, Teta and all the aunts, uncles and cousins!)

Third tooth cut through (top right)

Started waving bye-bye

First carousel ride (not too fond of it - you kind of looked like you might throw up!)

First teeth (bottom two front teeth are coming in at the same time!)

Received first passport in the mail

First Pool Party (with Momma and Baba; very comfortable in the cool water)

First Pedicure :) with Momma and Auntie Brenna (loved watching the lady scrub Momma's feet!)

Started sitting up on your own

First wedding (Steve and Julie, friends from Baba's school)

Finished our first 'big kid' book together (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)

First fruit (Grammie let her suck on an apple, followed shortly by a banana - YUMMY!)

First solid food (rice cereal - only wanted a few bites, but I think you liked it!)

First drink of water (LOVES sucking on the water bottle!)

First trip to the zoo (went with Momma and Auntie Brenna; favorite animal = bats!)

Momma's first Mother's Day (Bought her some beautiful white roses and a very sweet card - Baba got her a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure, 'cause she works so hard taking care of you!)

First birthday party (your buddy, Nyah, turned one today!)

First time away from Momma (stayed with Grammie in Momma's office while she interviewed some applicants for a position at work - and was a perfect angel!)

First laugh (big, loud giggles while Grammie held you and Baba scared you and Momma struggled with the video camera!)

13 lbs 15 oz, 24.5 inches

First road trip (to see Grammie's new house in Redmond)

Started sleeping through the night (if you count waking up at 4:30 am "sleeping through the night" - but for Momma, seven hours of sleep IN A ROW is close enough!)

First dinner out (BJ's in Jantzen Beach with Momma, Baba, Grammie and Auntie Wendy)

First day on the town; visit to mommy's work (Portland State University campus)

First bath (not her favorite first!)

First mother-inflicted wound (mommy accidentally cut Lilia's finger when trying to clip her nail; some bleeding, but no crying!)

Discharged from hospital

Born at 8:38pm (9 lbs 9 oz, 21.25 inches)
